Film Council

Posted: 1 month ago

Funding for the British Film Council has been cut in an effort by the Government to cut costs on spending. Many have accused the Government of attacking cultural spending saying that the arts sectors will suffer the most. The Government led agency has been funding British films for a decade now. Some of its funded films include The Last King of Scotland, The Constant Gardner, Bend It Like Beckham, This is England and the first UK 3D film Street Dance 3D. The film Council has also worked with organisations such as Mediabox and Skillset to provide thousands of filmmakers with the opportunity to pursue their dreams. To lose such an asset to the filming industry would be disastrous. Fellow Chews please join together to help Save the Film Council. Show your support by signing this petition.
